Chennai-based medical device and technology provider Trivitron Healthcare Pvt Ltd has acquired Finland-based Ani Labsystems Ltd and its group companies Ani Biotech, Biopoint and K3 for $22.2 million, according to a Hindu Business Line report.
The transaction will ensure Trivitron’s access to a global manufacturing facility as neonatal screening, cardiac, gastro and respiratory diagnostics kits will continue to be manufactured at Helsinki Vantaa in Finland. Health kits for women and medical kits for infectious diseases will be manufactured at Trivitron’s medical technology park in Chennai. Post-transaction, these companies will be merged and renamed as Labsystems Diagnostics OY.
“The factory in Chennai will enable Trivitron to offer new product lines in South and South-east Asia, West Asia and Africa,” said G.S.K. Velu, founder and MD of Trivitron Healthcare.
Founded in 1997, Trivitron is a medical technology solutions provider, operating in India, South and South-east Asia, the Middle East and Africa. The company has a strategic partnership with Hitachi Medical Systems and also offers consultancy services for setting up hospitals, nursing homes, clinical laboratories and research centres.
Last October, Trivitron acquired a minority stake in Kiran Medical Systems.
