Nikhil Ganju, who was the Marketing Director at Expedia Inc’s online travel forum TripAdvisor.com, has been elevated to the role of Country Manager – India, Alootechie reports.
Last month, Tripadvisor split up from its parent company Expedia Inc. The board approved the set up of a separate TripAdvisor public listed company, which now includes TripAdvisor Media Group and 18 travel media and advertising brands. Recently, Abhiram Chowdhury, the marketing director for Hotels.com brand in India and across Asia at Expedia Inc, shared with Techcircle.in that the company was stepping up its focus on India.
Ganju will based at Tripadvisor’s Gurgaon office. He joined Expedia Asia Pacific in October 2007 and in June 2008 became the Marketing Director for the company’s Tripadvisor portal, and led the marketing team for the website for almost three years.
Prior to joining Expedia, Ganju was employed at Times Internet Ltd (Indiatimes) as General Manager – Online Shopping, in charge of Indiatimes Shopping and prior to that was Chief Manager Marketing – E commerce at the company, where he headed online and offline marketing campaigns.
Ganju began his career at Baazee.com India Pvt Ltd (which was acquired by eBay) in 2000 as a marketing manager. He is a graduate of Symbiosis Institude of Management Studies.
