Three ELP executives quit to float law firm Vertices

Three executives at Mumbai-based legal advisory firm Economic Laws Practice have quit to start a new venture called Vertices Partners.

Vinayak Burman, Amit Vyas and Archana Khosla worked with law firms Amarchand Mangaldas, Trilegal and AZB, respectively, before joining Economic Laws Practice, according to a press release.

The new venture will specialise in private equity, venture capital, startup advisory, and mergers and acquisitions segments. It will also focus on white collar crimes advisory, banking code, commercial litigation and arbitration, intellectual property, real estate, media and technology.

Burman’s focus is on corporate commercial and private equity, M&As and joint ventures. A graduate from Symbiosis International University, he worked for Rajinder Narain & Co before moving to Amarchand Mangaldas and then ELP.

Vyas specialises in the dispute resolution practice, commercial litigation and arbitration. He will also focus on the proposed Bankruptcy Code and proceedings under the ambit of the National Company Law Tribunal, which is likely to be operational soon, the statement said.

A graduate from JNV University, Jodhpur, Vyas worked for DH Law and Rajani & Associates before moving to Trilegal and then ELP.

Khosla, an alumnus of Army Institute of Law, specialises in corporate commercial and boutique private equity, and has advised several startups. She has also worked on M&As, joint ventures, and angel, seed, venture capital and private equity investments.

Khosla was a senior associate at ELP for six years, having started her career in the Supreme Court with litigation and thereafter with AZB & Partners in Mumbai, the statement said.
