Global private equity firm TA Associates has elevated nine professionals globally, including two related to its India investment practice.
It has promoted Naveen Wadhera to managing director from director and Dhiraj Poddar, who is co-head of India, as a director from principal with effect from January 1.
Wadhera, who has been with TA Associates since 2001, is based in London where he focuses on investments in companies across Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Wadhera worked as director and country head after setting up TA Associatesâ office in Mumbai seven years ago and was elevated as co-head for Asia in 2014.
Although he is now based in London, he continues to serve as co-head of Asia and is closely involved with India investments. Wadhera advised on TAâs investments in Dr Lal PathLabs, Fractal Analytics, IndiaIdeas.com (BillDesk), Micromax, RateGain, Tega Industries and YeePay. He was also actively involved in the firmâs investments in 2nd Story Software, Drive Assist, GlobeOp Financial Services, ION Trading and SmartStream Technologies.
The engineering grad from University of Pennsylvania and MBA from Wharton sits on the board of Dr Lal PathLabs, Fractal Analytics, Micromax and RateGain.
Poddar focuses on investments in companies in India and other emerging markets. He received a degree from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. He has advised on TAâs investments in Fractal Analytics, IndiaIdeas.com, RateGain and Tega Industries.
The PE firms also promoted directors William D. Christ, Hythem T. El-Nazer, and J Morgan Seigler to managing directors. They sit out of the Boston and London offices of the firm.
Besides, Patrick Sader has been promoted to director from principal and Jason S Mironov has been promoted to principal from senior vice president.
The PE giant also promoted Clara M Jackson to senior vice president from vice president and Daniel Brujis to vice president from senior associate.

Earlier last year, the company had promoted Aditya Sharma, who was senior associate, as vice president.
Founded in 1968, the PE firm has invested in more than 450 companies around the world and has raised $18 billion in capital since its inception.
The firm has offices in Boston, Menlo Park, London, Mumbai and Hong Kong and leads buyouts and minority recapitalisations of profitable growth companies in the technology, financial services, business services, healthcare and consumer industries.
