Subir Nag, Director, ICICI Venture, has been given the additional charge of heading the fund raising, investor relationship, strategy and public relations functions at the private equity firm. In his new role, Nag will also assist the CEO in various strategic matters such as JVs, exits, secondary, structuring, pertaining to existing funds, new ventures and themes.
At ICICI Venture, he heads the mezzanine practice and is the Chief โ Investments for the Mezzanine Fund, which he raised and independently managed. The Mezzanine fund, an all rupee fund with commitments of Rs 350 crore, has made four investments till now. He will continue to manage the mezzanine fund even after assuming the new role.
At ICICI Venture, Nag will oversee all fund raising and AUM building activities, with assistance from and in collaboration with the relevant investment teams.
Subir joined ICICI Venture in 2006. Prior to this, he had spent 16 years in the areas of project management, investment banking, stressed asset management, corporate banking and entrepreneurship.
ICICI Venture currently has close to $2 billion of assets under management and is headed by Vishakha Mulye, the Managing Director and CEO.
It is presently raising its infrastructure Fund, which is targeted between $500 million to $1 billion. It is also raising a $750 million special situation fund. Nag will not be involved with the fund raising of the special situations fund.
