Medical emergency response platform, StanPlus has hired former Uber technology leader, Suhas Kulkarni, as its chief technology and product officer. The company has also instated Kulkarni as a founding member of the company.
In his new role, Kulkarni will be the driving and building technology-led applications for the company. The Hyderabad-based start-up said that with Kulkarni’s appointment, it can build a much faster and better medical response system.
Kulkarni has an experience of over 25 years in the industry. At Uber, he worked as the Engineering Lead, building a cutting-edge technology stack that could solve massive scale problems. Apart from Uber, he has also worked for prominent organisations like tech major Oracle, SocialCode, a digital marketing, and GREE, a Chinese manufacturer of home appliances.
“His (Kulkarni’s) experience of over two decades in building a technology stack will aid in transforming and scaling StanPlus' vision of creating a healthcare equivalent of 911,” said Prabhdeep Singh, Founder & CEO StanPlus.
"With his appointment, we will be working towards making Stanplus a tech-first platform that will support in building and scaling our medical emergency responses across 400 Indian cities," he added.
Commenting on his new appointment, Kulkarni, said, "StanPlus is on a mission to solve the country's emergency response crisis... I will be working towards contributing to StanPlus' quest to create a medical infrastructure model akin to 911 and save millions of lives during the 'Golden Hour.'”
StanPlus aims to achieve the core pillars of response technologies during emergencies: access, triage, destination selection, and vital sharing. The start-up has already partnered with more than 50 hospitals and over 70 enterprises and is looking to expand to 15 plus cities in India by the end of this year.
