Snapdeal ropes in Jayant Sood from Bharti Airtel as chief customer experience officer

E-commerce marketplace Snapdeal, which is run by Delhi-based Jasper Infotech Pvt Ltd, has appointed Jayant Sood as Chief Customer Experience Officer (CCO).

In his new role, Jayant will be responsible for streamlining the company’s customer service operations.

An Economics graduate with a CA degree, Sood was last working as head-contact experience at India's top telco Bharti Airtel Ltd. He has also served as Chief Service Officer at the telecom firm for both telemedia business and market operations prior to that. Previously, he was with American Express for two decades.

He has an extensive background in leading and managing large scale operations delivery, business transformation, finance & accounting, change management and customer experience both within India and across International markets.

“Jayant’s deep understanding of customer service best practices across diverse geographies will help us drive successful consumer engagements focusing on loyalty, satisfaction and retention,” said Rohit Bansal, co-founder, Snapdeal.

Snapdeal recently roped Vivek Patankar as senior vice president – finance from Unilever to replace Aakash Moondhra, who had quit as CFO followed by Idi Srinivas Murthy as senior vice-president for marketing to take over a position vacated by Sandeep Komaravelly, who will now play a strategic leadership role within the company.

In February, Snapdeal CTO Amitabh Misra had quit the company. Around the same time, Jeyandran Venugopal was roped in from Yahoo as technology advisor.
