Interaction technology startup Shopsense Technologies Pvt Ltd, which recently launched a mobile app for location-based shopping, has raised an undisclosed amount in pre-Series A funding from Kae Capital.
Snapdeal founders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal also participated in this round, Shopsense said in a press statement.
The startup will use the money raised for Fynd, its new shopping app that connects users with nearby offline merchants. Fynd is available on Android and iOS platforms.
Fynd will expand operations into Bangalore and Delhi NCR by the current year-end.
Fynd currently works with about 40 brands such as Being Human, Levis, Van Heusen, Steve Madden, GAS, Soch, Jashn, AND, Global Desi, Puma, Clarks, Chumbak and Forever New among others. Through its offline-to- online model, Fynd helps stores reach out to online shoppers.
Fynd would compete with players such as Shopsity, Zakoopi and broader e-commerce ventures such as JustDial and Paytm. In July, Shopsity had raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from Sandeep Aggarwal, founder and former CEO of ShopClues, and Teruhide Sato, founder of Netprice (now Beenos).
Shopsense was founded in 2012 by IIT Bombay alumni Farooq Adam, Harsh Shah and Sreeraman MG. One of its products called âMatchâ works by building large touchscreens at physical stores where customers can browse products, search for new ones and share with friends for feedback via email or social networks.
