Animall Technologies Pvt. Ltd, which operates a platform that connects cattle buyers and sellers, has raised Rs 44.5 crore ($6 million) in a Series A funding round led by Sequoia Capital.

Sequoia contributed Rs 22 crore in this while early-stage investment firms Omnivore and LetsVenture also put in money, digital media publication Entrackr reported, citing regulatory filings.

The company had raised Rs 5.65 crore led by Beenext Asia earlier this year. WEH Ventures and Shaadi.com's Anupam Mittal also participated in that round.

Animall operates through a Hindi language website and an android application called “Pashu Mela” that it claims has recorded one million downloads on the Google Play Store.

The broader animal nutrition segment has seen several deals in the recent past.

Krimanshi Feeds, a startup working in the animal nutrition sector, raised its first round of institutional funding from Rajasthan Venture Capital Fund last month.

In 2019, Aquaconnect, a network of fish farmers, had raised $1.1 million in a seed round of funding from impact investor Omnivore and startup accelerator HATCH.
