Mumbai-based startup accelerator ScaleMinds has invested an undisclosed sum in Strata Enviro Pvt. Ltd, which manufacturers and installs outdoor air pollution controllers, the company said in a statement.

The Pune-based company was selected during an investor pitch at FundTonic Pune Startup Marathon 2017.

Strata Enviro was founded by Amol Chaphekar in July 2016, who had earlier launched used goods store Seconds Stores. He holds multiple technology patents in his name.

The startup has installed pollution controllers in Pune, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad, apart from exporting units to overseas countries.

It puts up controllers at airports, traffic signals, toll booths and traffic congestion zones. For a cost, it provides display to the sponsor at the top of the unit. This ensures that the unit’s maintenance is taken care of.

An early-stage accelerator, ScaleMinds provides startups with seed funding and personalised mentorship. Founded by Nainesh Kapadia in September 2016, it plans to invest in 20 startups every year.

Investors from FundTonic, IAN, ah! Ventures, Navin Honagudi of Kae Capital, Miten Mehta of Spinta Global Accelerator, Axel & Boris of Yesss Capital, Dhanraj Chandriani of Technecon Healthcare Pvt. Ltd and Rajesh Sehgal of Equanimity Investments are associated with ScaleMinds as mentors.
