RPG Cables Raises Over Rs 51 Cr Through Land Sale

RPG Cables, part of Kolkata-based business conglomerate RPG Group, has sold its 36,418-square metre land to Windsor Realty Pvt Ltd for Rs 51.50 crore. The land was located at one of its manufacturing plants at Thane in Maharastra. 

The company operates in two segments: power cables and telecommunication cables. Its products include jelly filled telephone cables, optic fibre cables and insulated wires. Besides Thane, the company has manufacturing facilities at Mysore in Karnataka, Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh and Silvassa in the Indian union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. 

RPG Cables reported net loss of Rs 4.06 crore in June quarter, 2009, lower than net loss of Rs 5.01 crore in corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal. Net sales declined 31.6% to Rs 57.34 crore in Q1 June 2009 over Q1 June 2008.
