Capabiliti is run by Qustn Technologies Pvt Ltd and operates on a software-as-a-service model. It will use the capital to expand into the international markets, build its team and enhance the technology platform, the company said in a press statement.
Freshdesk founder Girish Mathrubootham, Google India head Rajan Anandan, Ravi Gururaj, chairman of Frictionless Ventures and NASSCOM Product Council, and Alok Mittal, co-founder and CEO of Indifi Technologies also put in money in Capabiliti in this round.
Other investors include Suhas Bhide (managing partner, Asia Pacific Services Leader-IBM), Arihant Patni (MD, Hive Technologies, and co-founder of Nirvana Venture Advisors), Capillary co-founder Krishna K. Mehra, Cisco's Alok Bardiya, Amitabh Sharma of Egon Zhender, Salman Niaz of Goldman Sachs, angel investors Renjith Cherickel and Utsav Somani, and Harish Bahl and Manish Vij of Smile Multimedia.
The startup was founded in October 2014 by Mrigank Tripathi, CEO, and Sachin Grover, CTO. Tripathi, an alumnus of INSEAD, has previously worked with Mercer Consulting among others, and also founded a mobile advertising startup called Applied Mobile Labs (earlier Voicetap). Grover has earlier worked with Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard and Yahoo.
Tripathi said Capabiliti charges on a pay-per-use basis and has seen over 700,000 transactions. It helps tackle challenges like low-buffering speeds and high costs associated with streaming and compressing the data, and also allows managers to monitor the progress through a real time dashboard anywhere, he said.
The company counts Bharti Airtel, Indus Towers, Flipkart and ShopClues as customers for its B2B solutions.
Capabiliti joins other startups in the recruitment segment to raise funding. Earlier this month, Bangalore-based Jobspire Technologies Pvt Ltd secured $262,000 in seed funding from Purvi Capital LLC, a Chicago-based investment firm, and others.
In July, ZenRadius, which helps startups to find talent through social networks, received an undisclosed amount in seed funding from startup incubator Tracxn Labs and recruitment solutions firm Anzy Careersâ founder Deepak Singh.
The online hiring market is dominated by Naukri, Monster and HT Media's Shine. Other players in the segment include HackerRank and Venturesity, which use hackathons to hire talent.
