Price comparison and deal aggregation portal PriceRaja.com, run by Accentium Web Pvt Ltd, has received $300,000 (around Rs 2 crore) in angel funding from Prashant Puri, founder and CEO of AdLift, according to a post on its website.

As a part of the deal, Puri will be joining the company in an advisory role. Puri had earlier headed digital marketing at US-based Shopping.com, an eBay company. He is also is a part of Columbia University’s Entrepreneurship Advisory Board (EAB) where he mentors young entrepreneurs.

PriceRaja's founder Vivek Pahwa is also co-founder of AdLift, a digital marketing company.

The company, which was earlier called PriceBag.com, had secured $2 million in funding from a group of unnamed high net-worth individuals (HNIs) in August 2014.

In the price comparison and product discovery segment, Bidon Services Pvt Ltd., which runs BuyHatke, received $1 million (Rs 6.4 crore) investment in seed funding from Infosys co-founder S Gopalakrishnan and Japanese e-commerce company Beenos, last year. In April last year, Delhi-based cross-product price comparison portal BuyingIQ.com was acquired byCarDekho parent Girnar Software for an undisclosed amount.

PriceRaja claims to receive 3 million visits per month and about 12 million page views per month, and is targeting 10 million visits per month over the next year.

“Product and price comparison is essentially a content and product business and innovative internet marketing is key to success, and Prashant will add tremendous value to this effort,” said Vivek Pahwa, CEO and founder of Accentium.

Pahwa, an alumnus of Indian School of Business, has also co-founded Gaadi.com. Accentium also runs marriage portal SecondShaadi.com, and had earlier created movie review app DesiMartini.com which it later sold to HT Media.
