SoftBank Group Corp launched its second Vision Fund on Friday, in perhaps the biggest investment-related news of this week. The new fund has secured commitments for $108 billion from a wide range of investors including Apple, Microsoft and Japanese banks, SoftBank said.
Meanwhile, private equity firms WestBridge struck a rare bet by picking up a stake in Yes Bank while Baring PE Asia and TPG also remained in news this week.
In startup funding news, Snapdeal was the surprise of the week, raising money from Piramal Group executive director Anand Piramal.
