Indian software firm Persistent Systems Ltd has agreed to acquire Australia’s PRM Cloud Solutions Pty Ltd for an undisclosed amount.

PRM is cloud application development firm and is a partner of US-based salesforce.com, a cloud computing firm that sells customer relationship management software, Persistence said in a statement.

The Australian firm focuses on healthcare, construction and property management sectors and has clients including auto maker Honda and mining group Rio Tinto.

“PRM has local expertise in building new digital experiences for organizations in Australia,” said Ashish Bhuta, Persistent’s head of sales in Australia. The deal strengthens Persistent’s platform-centric approach to digital transformation with Salesforce as one of the dominant platforms in Australia, Bhuta said.

Pune-based Persistent Systems was founded in 1990 by IIT Kharagpur alumnus Anand Deshpande. It develops software solutions in next-generation technology areas including analytics, Big Data, cloud computing, mobility and social. It mainly targets the telecommunications, banking and financial services, life sciences and healthcare verticals.

The acquisition comes two months after Persistent signed an agreement in January to acquire Citrix Systems' CloudPlatform and CloudPortal Business Manager product lines for an undisclosed amount through its US subsidiary.

Last year, Persistent had made two acquisitions. It acquired Ireland-based technology firm Aepona Holdings Ltd for an undisclosed amount in July and agreed to purchase the assets and hire the employees of US-based software company Akumina Inc's content management services business in November.
