Paul Capital, an investment firm focused on the private equity secondary market, has promoted Jason Sambanju to Managing Director and co- head of the firm's Asian operations. Sambanju will share his role with Managing Director Lucian Wu.

Founded in 1991, Paul Capital manages $7.6 billion in commitments across three platforms that include private equity secondaries, healthcare royalty and revenue interests, and venture capital fund of funds. The firm has offices in Hong Kong, London, New York, Paris, San Francisco, and Sao Paulo. Players like Coller Capital and Adams Street Partners have been active in the Indian secondary market.

Besides, Paul Capital has also appointed Todd Miller as a New York-based Principal on the firm's Secondary Investments team.

Sambanju joined Paul Capital in August 2007 as a Director in the firm's Hong Kong office. His responsibilities include transaction sourcing and execution as well as the general development of Paul Capital's business within Asia.

Sambanju has 11 years of experience including over 7 years at private equity major Symphony Capital Partners and has worked on deals across industries and geographies. Before that, he was an Associate in Deutsche Bank’s Mergers & Acquisitions investment banking group in New York.

Sambanju has dual bachelor degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (from the Wharton School and College of Arts & Sciences) and has spent a year at the London School of Economics.

"As a Director in our Hong Kong office, Jason has made significant contributions to the firm's expansion in the Asia Pacific region. We see tremendous opportunity in emerging markets, and Jason Sambanju and Lucian Wu, now co-heads of our Asian effort, will play a key role in coordinating and growing Paul Capital's activity in the region," said Bryon Sheets, a San Francisco-based Partner at Paul Capital.
