Advertising firm McCann India has appointed Partha Sinha as vice chairman and managing director of the company, several media reports said.
Sinha is moving from Publicis South Asia where he was managing director and part of the three-member management team running the company. He will be based in Mumbai.
The appointment comes at a time when Govind Pandey, chief operating officer at McCann Worldgroup, is moving on to join TBWA India as CEO from January 2016.
Sinha, an IIT Kharagpur and IIM Ahmedabad alumnus, started his career with Citibank. He later joined advertising agency Ogilvy and Mather where he set up the strategic planning function.
Sinha also worked with Zee Telefilms overseeing strategy for 14 channels as a marketing director for about three years.
He was named as chief strategy officer for South Asia at Publicis in May 2003 and was elevated to Publicis South Asia MD along with Bobby Pawar in 2013. Recently, he was inducted into the advisory board of WARC and Symbiosis University.
