Evibe Technologies Pvt Ltd, which runs evibe.in, an online marketplace for party services, has raised an undisclosed amount in angel funding from investors led by Hyderabad Angels.
The round also saw participation from Lalit Mangal and Vikas Malpani, co-founders of CommonFloor, Gaurav Bhalotia, VP – engineering, Flipkart, and entrepreneur LV Prasad.
The new capital will be used to cover a wider gamut of get-togethers such as pre- and post-wedding celebrations, house-warming parties and conferences in Bangalore besides backend technology development and operations.
The Bangalore-based startup was founded in February 2014 by B Anjaneyulu Reddy and Swathi Bavanaka. It claims to have served over 1,60,000 guests.
In the online party planning space, BookEventz, previously called UrbanRestro, a one-stop platform for event planning requirements, has raised an undisclosed amount from angel investors led by Mumbai Angels in December 2015. The same month Weddingz.in, an online marketplace for wedding venues and vendors, raised over $1 million (around Rs 6.7 crore) in angel funding from a group of investors, including Google India’s managing director Rajan Anandan, recently.
In September 2015, WedMeGood, a wedding planning portal that connects prospective couples with over 3,000 vendors, secured Rs 2.7 crore in seed funding from Indian Angel Network. Media firm New Delhi Television Ltd has also forayed into the online wedding and festival planning market with the launch of its new venture named Special Occasions Ltd.
Delhi-based Gigstart is another player in this space.
