New Sparta Group (NSG) has named Sanjeev âBobbyâ Sarin, who is founder and chief executive officer of O-Zone Networks, as India CEO, it said in a statement.
Along with his new responsibility, Sarin will continue to lead O-Zone, a Wi-Fi operator in India.
NSG is the private office of Jerome Booth, a British economist, entrepreneur, investor, commentator and expert on emerging markets.
Bobby has over 27 years of experience in telecom industry. He has held senior positions at global firms such as British Telecom Global Services, The Cloud, Nortel and Carrier 1.
"Bobby brings extensive knowledge and experience of the Indian market, which will strengthen NSGâs strategic investment plan for the country. India has the highest growth rate among large economies in the world and the company is committed to capitalise on the existing opportunities and will continue to grow its presence in the country," Booth said.
In his role as India CEO of NSG, Bobby will be responsible for advising Booth and the advisory board of NSG on strategy for India. He will also be responsible for financial reporting and operational reviews for NSGâs Indian entities.
An email query sent to NSG seeking further information on the aforesaid development did not elicit any response by the time of filing this article.
Booth is also the principal shareholder and chairman of UK-based ISP and telecoms company New Call Telecom that acquired O-Zone Networks in September 2015.
In 2013, Booth retired as head of research at Ashmore Group plc. He had been part of the management buy-out that established Ashmore in 1999.
Booth is also an investor in a range of businesses, including media, film, telecom and insurance.
