Mid-sized IT services firm NIIT Technologies Ltd has appointed Amit Kumar Garg as chief financial officer, according to a stock market disclosure.
Garg takes over from Amit Roy, who was appointed as CFO in the interim, and will head the global finance function at NIIT Technologies. Roy was appointed as interim CFO after Pratibha Advani resigned as CFO in October this year to pursue other opportunities.
Garg has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance, corporate restructuring, cash management, compliance, and controller-ship, as well as in driving value creation through operations optimisation and managing strategic initiatives.
He started his career in India with PricewaterhouseCoopers and has also worked with Fidelity International and American Express Financial Centre in the country.
Prior to his appointment, Garg was regional finance director and CFO at Intertek India, the South Asian arm of the leading international provider of quality and safety services, and served on the board of the entity.

Garg is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from MIT Sloan School of Management, Cambridge.
NIIT Technologies offers application development and maintenance services, infrastructure management services, IP asset or platform solutions and business process management to organisations in the financial services, travel and transportation, manufacturing/distribution and government sectors. It serves customers in the US, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Australia.
On Tuesday, shares of NIIT Technologies ended at Rs 595 each, up 0.87 per cent on BSE in a strong Mumbai market.
