India- and US-based venture capital fund Nexus Venture Partners has elevated KG Subramanian as managing director â finance and operations and CFO, according to a statement.
Subramanian is currently based in Mumbai and will assume responsibilities for portfolio and exit management and administrative duties in addition to his current role in fund administration, compliance and legal.
He joined Nexus Venture Partners in 2010 from Kotak Mahindra Investments Ltd, where he was senior vice president â finance and operations.
During his 14-year-long stint at Kotak Group, he had played senior roles in accounting, treasury and various finance functions, including a five-year-long assignment to improve operational and financial processes at Business Standard, the financial newspaper publisher and media house.
He started his career with Ashok Leyland Finance Ltd, an NBFC specialising in commercial vehicles and corporate financing products, in 1995.
âThis promotion reflects his contribution to Nexus over the last five years and the additional responsibilities he has assumed since he started,â said Naren Gupta, co-founder and MD of Nexus Venture Partners. Currently Nexus Venture Partners has five managing directors including Gupta.
Subramanian is a chartered accountant and a cost accountant.
Nexus invests in Indian startups and US-based startups which have an Indian footprint. It has over $1 billion under management with an active portfolio of over 60 companies across technology, internet, consumer and business services sectors.
It was ranked the fifth most-prolific VC firm in India in 2015 with 25 deals. The early-stage growth investor has backed companies such as OLX, ShopClues, Snapdeal, Delhivery and RoadRunnr.
