MyDentistChoice, a Hyderabad based e-commerce platform for dental products, has raised $150,000 (around Rs 1 crore) in seed investment from a US-based investor, it said in a statement.
The company, however, did not reveal the name of the investor.
The firm, which was founded by P Sivaprasad, is part of Hyderabad-based startup incubator T-Hub. It claims to have a customer base of 3,00,000 dentists and 500 dental colleges. Its clients include Apollo White Dental, Dentyâs, and Partha Dental.
Of late, firms in the healthcare technology space have been eliciting a lot of investor interest. On Monday, ThingsMeet Solutions Pvt. Ltd, which owns soon-to-be-launched healthcare app Prescribez, raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from high-net-worth individual and angel investor Ankush Mehta.
Last week, doctor consultation app DocsApp secured seed investment worth Rs 8 crore ($1.2 million) from investors led by Japanese venture capital firm Rebright Partners. Early Facebook investors Anand Rajaraman and Venky Harinarayan also invested in that round.
Prior to that, Careongo Technology Pvt. Ltd, which runs a chain of co-branded online pharmacies, raised an undisclosed amount in a pre-Series A round of funding from Farooq Oomerbhoy of FAO Ventures and a group of other investors.
In March, Bangalore-based Pink Blue Supply Solutions Pvt Ltd, that operates clinical supplies e-commerce platform Pinkblue.in, raised $223,608 (Rs 1.5 crore) in seed funding from a bunch of angel investors, facilitated by startup investment platform Termsheet.io.
