Mumbai-based Blue Star Infotech Ltd, a software services & solutions provider and part of the $700 million Blue Star Group, has announced a strategic investment into business intelligence & analytics solutions provider Activecubes Solutions India Pvt Ltd. In a stock market disclosure, Blue Star said it has entered into definitive agreements for a strategic alliance and investment in the equity of Bangalore-based Activecubes.
For Blue Star, this is the first step to inorganic growth in FY13-14, the release said. The company is also looking at more avenues for inorganic expansion.
“Business intelligence & analytics is one of our key focus areas and we see great potential in this space. This association will not only help our clients derive business efficiencies, but also ensure revenue enhancement through custom offerings, based on studying customer behaviour and market trends,” said Sunil Bhatia, CEO and managing director of Blue Star Infotech.
“Our clients will benefit from Blue Star Infotech’s broad range of service offerings. Also, the size of the overall team, access to knowledge pools and other resources will increase manifold,” said Activecubes CEO Rajesh Varrier while commenting on the development.
The partnership will be leveraged for cross-selling and upscaling, and enhancing Blue Star’s focus on product engineering, travel & hospitality and healthcare verticals. The services of both companies will be integrated as well and they will work towards a combined BI and analytics practice. This will enable the firms to provide comprehensive service offerings to their clients globally.

Activecubes was set up in 2007 and provides business intelligence & analytics services globally. Its services span key areas like sales, marketing, supply chain, operations and risk management.
