Delhi-based Meissa Technologies Pvt. Ltd, which operates drone startup WeDoSky, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Mumbai Angels Network.

The startup will use the funds for the expansion of VisualAI—a solution to convert aerial images taken by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) into geo-referenced 2D or 3D models—and to integrate solutions for agriculture, infrastructure and insurance industries, it said in a statement.

WeDoSky, which was founded in August 2014 by Jaspreet Makkar, provides business insights using drone imagery to firms in mining, construction and energy sectors, among others.

If also offers drone data science solutions which help monitor geographical areas. Data extraction and analysis are done using VisualAI which is its proprietary software. WeDoSky’s clients include Adani Enterprises, Tata Power, Azure Power and ACC Cement.

“We are excited to be associating with Mumbai Angels Network to catapult WeDoSky's growth. Our offerings can help eradicate inefficiency from data science and drone imagery segments,” said Jaspreet Makkar, founder of WeDoSky.

“With a strong team in place, WeDoSky is set it to scale heights," said Ishan Singh, Mumbai Angels Network’s deal lead.

Mumbai Angels Network is one of India’s largest angel networks with more than 250 members across Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Bengaluru. Its portfolio comprises more than 90 ventures across multiple sectors focussed primarily on seed and early stage companies.

According to PricewaterhouseCoopers, drone data for business intelligence is a $127 billion opportunity.

In February, Aarav Unmanned Systems, an unmanned aerial vehicle startup incubated at IIT Kanpur, secured an undisclosed amount in seed funding from StartupXseed Ventures, The Phoenix Fund and others.

In May 2016, Chennai-based agri-tech startup Airwood Aerostructures Pvt. Ltd raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding from StartupXseed Ventures LLP.
