Bangalore-headquartered publishing services company MPS Ltd has acquired US-based Electronic Publishing Services (EPS), a full-service editorial, content creation, art rendering and development, design, research & permissions and production service provider, as per a stock market disclosure. The company did not disclose the deal value.
"The acquisition of EPS further strengthens our presence in North America and enriches our portfolio in the educational publishing market. Educational publishers will benefit from the wider range of services and the true integration of subject matter expertise with digital learning," said Rahul Arora, CMO of MPS and managing member of MPS North America.
New York-based EPS provides its services to the higher education and professional publishing markets. It delivers projects from concept to ready for manufacture or electronic distribution.
"All the current employees of EPS have joined MPS and will continue to deliver all the services that they have in the past. I am eager to continue my leadership role with our team and continue working closely with our valued customers,” said Eileen Mitchell, president of EPS Inc.
MPS (formerly Macmillan India Ltd) currently provides typesetting and data digitisation services for publishers in India, Europe and the US. The company also offers BPO solutions, including subscription management, journal, magazine & book distribution, content aggregation & data mining, and customer services.
Earlier, it was part of the Macmillan Group, a privately held global publishing firm. However, Delhi-based ADI BPO purchased Macmillan’s stake in MPS in 2011 and currently has management control of the company.
Last year in May, MPS had signed an agreement with US-based Element, LLC, to acquire its units for around Rs 10 crore ($1.8 million).
