Mphasis CFO Ganesh Murthy resigns

Mid-sized software services firm Mphasis Ltd has appointed V Suryanarayanan as its interim chief financial officer (CFO) after Ganesh Murthy resigned from the company, the company said in a BSE disclosure.

Murthy, who will continue in his role till June 3, 2014, is leaving to pursue other career opportunities after serving as Mphasis CFO since July 2009. He has previously worked for companies like HP, Wipro Ltd, ITC Ltd and Texas Instruments.

“Ganesh Murthy has been a key leader and has been instrumental in enabling our successful transformation. While he is going to pursue other career opportunities, he will remain as our ambassador,” said Ganesh Ayyar, chief executive officer, Mphasis.

Interim CFO Suryanarayanan joined Mphasis in 2009 after the firm acquired AIG Systems Solutions Pvt. Ltd, the captive unit of AIG Inc., where he was CFO. Prior to that, Suryanarayanan was CFO at Deutsche Software Ltd, a captive of Deutsche Bank. He was also CFO of Ramco Systems Ltd before his stint with Deutsche.

Suryanarayanan is currently serving as senior vice president and head business finance and tax at Mphasis.

HP acquired Mphasis in 2008 when it purchased the Bangalore-based company’s former parent Electronic Data Systems (EDS).
