Mercer India ropes in Anish Sarkar from Capgemini to lead consulting business

Talent management services major Mercer has roped in Anish Sarkar as country leader for its consulting business in India, the company said in a press release. He will be based out of the company's Mumbai office and will report to Cameron Hannah, market leader - India, Middle East, Turkey and Africa (IMETA) and Sanjay Kedia, Marsh India country leader and CEO.

Mercer is a wholly-owned subsidiary of NYSE-listed professional services firm Marsh & McLennan Companies.

Sarkar comes with experience across business development, account management, business transformation and organisational change management. He joins Mercer India from Capgemini Group where he was senior vice-president and head of consulting for India. During his tenure with Capgemini, he held various leadership roles across sales and account development, operations and business transformation and technology practices.

In his new role at Mercer India, Sarkar will focus on driving strategic growth initiatives to broaden the service and solution offerings beyond talent consulting and information solutions.

He will join the IMETA market leadership team and will work with Kedia which will help the company in strengthening relationships with Mercer’s sister companies.

Anish brings with him a keen sense and understanding of the Indian market, which combined with his rich knowledge across sectors, makes him well placed to lead the strategic growth of our India business," said Hannah.

Sarkar holds a B Tech from IIT Kharagpur and an MBA from IIM Calcutta.

Mercer, a leading consulting firm in talent, health, retirement and investments, employs over 20,000 people in more than 40 countries.
