Subbu Subramaniam-floated private equity firm MCap Advisors has roped in Satish Chaluvadi as a director. Until recently, he was a vice-president with Matrix Partners, leading the infrastructure, engineering and logistics practices. An alumnus of IIM Bangalore, Chaluvadi has over 12 years of experience in financial services, a statement said. He has evaluated and invested in companies across sectors like telecom, retail infrastructure, healthcare, biotech, manufacturing and transportation.
Besides Subbu Subramaniam, who had quit Baring Private Equity Partners India to start his own firm, the firm has other partners in Abhilash Lal, who was till recently director at real estate consultancy DTZ. It has also got on board Rahul Gupta, who was the chief risk officer for Citigroup in India as a full time advisor with the firm.
MCap is currently on the road to raise its debut private equity fund. The fund has also added Krupa Shankar, Abhishek Chandra and Mohit Agarwal at the associate/senior analyst levels.
Limited partners (LP) are increasingly turning demanding on the quality of the team, execution capabilities, the pipeline of deals and also even actual deals ahead of their fundraising.
