Merger & acquisitions (M&As) in the food and agriculture business looks set to trump the recent high in terms of number of transactions this year if the deal activity in the first nine months is anything to go by.
Although a lack of large-sized acquisitions means the aggregate value of M&As in the sector is way short of the mark of the previous years, volume of acquisitions has already matched the calendar year average for the past few years, according to VCCEdge, the data research platform of VCCircle.
This comes on the back of similar hectic activity in private investments in the sector. Private investment in the food and agriculture sector has hit a record high, both in terms of the volume of transactions and the total value of announced deals (click here for more on that).
