With this acquisition, the company will expand its North American footprint and establish a platform in DNA testing, gut microbiome health, AI-driven multi-omics testing, and longevity testing dedicated to proactive, preventive healthcare across Canada and the US.

The development comes over a year-and-a-half after Mapmygenome acquired Microbiome Insights, a Canada-based microbial sequencing company for an undisclosed sum.

Anu Acharya, founder and CEO of Mapmygenome, said pairing dnaPower’s commercial trajectory with the company’s clinical laboratories and AI capabilities positions it to “define the next frontier” in microbiome, longevity, and precision health testing.

Founded in 2008 by Lois Nahirney, dnaPower specializes in DNA-based insights for health, nutrition, fitness, methylation, and longevity for consumers and practitioners.

Mapmygenome, founded over a decade ago, is a research-driven genomics company focused on preventive healthcare. It offers AI-powered genomic and microbiome testing to deliver personalized health solutions, including at-home DNA tests for proactive wellness and longevity. Its diagnostic genomic tests for healthcare providers are conducted in a CAP-accredited lab and are complemented by expert genetic counselling.

The company is primarily backed by angel investors and networks, including the Singapore Angel Network. For the financial year ended March 2025, Mapmygenome reported operating revenue of Rs 31.2 crore, up from Rs 30.6 crore in the previous year, as per regulatory filings. However, it swung to a net profit of Rs 1.8 crore in the period against a loss of Rs 9 crore in FY24. Its latest financials couldn’t be ascertained.
