Law firm Trilegal has promoted two of its counsels, Soumya Hariharan and Arnav Dayal, as equity partners.
Hariharan will become a partner for the competition law practice while Dayal will deal with the corporate practice.
The company said in a statement that the appointments will take effect from April 1.
The two appointments take Trilegal’s partnership strength to 42. The firm employs 230 lawyers.
Hariharan is currently a counsel in the competition law practice at the Mumbai office of Trilegal.
Nisha Kaur Uberoi, partner and head of the firm’s competition law practice, said Hariharan's elevation will further strengthen Trilegal’s competition law offerings.
Hariharan has experience working on merger and acquisition transactions in India, which have been subject to structural commitments. She represents clients in cartel investigation (involving applications for leniency), abuse of dominance investigations and conducts competition compliance programmes across various sectors.
Prior to joining Trilegal, Hariharan worked in the competition law practices at AZB & Partners and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in Mumbai. Her international work experience includes working with Dentons Rodyk (formerly Rodyk & Davidson LLP) in Singapore in their corporate and competition law practice for over three years.
Hariharan completed her law degree with a focus on competition law and economics from the National University of Singapore.
Arnav Dayal is a counsel in the Gurgaon office of Trilegal and is part of the corporate practice.
He has worked on acquisitions, private equity investments, investments in special economic zones, joint ventures, business transfers, entry strategies, corporate restructuring and general corporate compliance- related work among other areas of the corporate practice.
Dayal is an alumnus of National Law University in Jodhpur.
