Mumbai-based law firm Khaitan & Co. on Friday said it has elevated 11 of its principal associates to partner roles.
Six of the 11 principal associates promoted are women while five are men, said Khaitan in a statement, which has now 141 partners.
The women who got promoted are Anisha Chand, Anushka Sharda, Saman Ahsan, Smriti Yadav, Suhana Islam Murshedd and Tanvi Kumar.
The men who got elevated are Aravind Venugopal, Pashupati Nath, Sanjay Khan Nagra, Shailendra Bhandare and Rishabh Bharadwaj.
“Each member who has been promoted has played an integral part over the years, in enhancing the firm’s expertise and presence across practices, while keeping our core ideology, value systems and culture intact," said Amar Sinhji, executive director, human resources, Khaitan.
"These partners will now pave the way and help groom our next generation of leaders. We wish them all the best for their new roles and enhanced responsibilities," he added.
In May 2017, Khaitan had elevated 24 lawyers to the roles of partners and counsel.
Prior to that in 2016, the legal firm had added 12 partners to take the total to 105.
Khaitan, which was founded in November 1911 in Kolkata, currently has 141 partners and 11 counsel across its offices in Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi. The law firm has grown to over 578 lawyers over the years.
Earlier in January, law firm DSK Legal hired former Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas partners Kirat Singh Nagra and Rishi Anand in Delhi.
