Italy’s IMA Dairy & Food acquires Pune-based Hassia Packaging as part of global deal

Italian company Industria Macchine Automatiche SPA (IMA), which provides packaging machinery, technology and services, has acquired Hassia Packaging India, a Pune-based company as part of its global acquisition of Hassia's parent OYSTAR Group.

Post acquisition, Hassia Packaging will be known as IMA Dairy & Food Holding Hassia India and the deal will help both the companies to strengthen its footprint in the global packaging industry in geographies like South Asia, Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, West Asia.

Founded in 1997,  Hassia Packaging provides automated packaging machines for food, dairy, agrochemical, washing powder, shampoo, hair oil and nutraceuticals. It exports 30 per cent of its products to international markets including Africa, SAARC and Southeast Asia. Some of the prominent clientele of the brand includes companies like Unilever ITC, P&G, Perfetti, Kraft Foods, GSK, Danone, Abbott etc.

“By bundling our know-how, we secure even more successful growth in the Asian markets and we can promote our business even more intensely in the future," said Markus Ehl, CEO of IMA Dairy & Food.

IMA Dairy & Food is a part of Italian IMA SPA and supplies packaging machinery, technology and services. IMA SPA is present in over 80 countries and operates 34 production sites – in India, Italy, Germany, France, the UK, Switzerland, Spain, the US and China.
