Mid-market investment bank Singhi Advisors has hired Sunil Pahilajani as a partner to lead its Delhi and North India offices, the firm said in a statement.
Pahilajani is an alumnus of IIT Roorkee and joins Singhi Advisors after having worked in the corporate world for over 30 years. He has experience in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, defence, infrastructure, agriculture equipment and engineering, the firm said.
Pahilajani has been a managing director and CEO at companies like Greaves Cotton Ltd, Continental Engines, Mahindra Navistar, Caparo India and SE Forge. He started his career with Japanese majors Maruti Suzuki and Hongo India (H-One), the firm said.
Pahilajani also serves on the boards as an independent director of some auto components companies and as an adviser to the board of Minda Group and Hi-Tech Gears.
Mahesh Singhi, founder and managing director at Singhi Advisors, said Pahilajani has considerable multi-disciplinary leadership experience at multicultural organisations. “(He has) hands-on knowledge of building, growing and managing engineering, manufacturing and technology businesses while having functional knowledge of business strategy, turnaround management, mergers and acquisitions, and management buyouts,” Singhi said.
