IT major Infosys Ltd has announced the realignment of its organisational structure to enhance the companyâs agility in the market and sharpen its competitive differentiation across service lines, the company said in a statement. This restructuring will be effective from April 1, 2015.
As a part of this, it will be organised into sales, delivery and business-enabling functions.
Sales will continue to be organised around industry segments while delivery will continue to be organised around service lines with a focus on nurturing innovation to drive service line differentiation across industry segments.
The IT firm is also making management changes to run these different service lines across its segments, as per a Mint report citing sources.
This will be the first big organisational change after Vishal Sikka took charge in August last year as the first non-founder CEO of Infosys.
People movement
Srikantan Moorthy, company's HR head, is moving to delivery function which will be structured around seven service lines including digital integration, application development & maintenance, engineering services, cloud & infrastructure, independent validation & testing, enterprise package application and management consulting services. The company is now searching for a new HR head.
Moorthy, who has almost three decades of experience in the professional services industry, is also the executive sponsor for Infosys Leadership Institute.
Prior to taking up this role in April 2013, he was the head of education & research (E&R) at Infosys where his primary responsibility was talent development through competency building.
The delivery function will be headed by Ravi Kumar S, who is leading cards and insurance and health business segments.
Kumar has over one-and-a-half decades of experience in the consulting space, incubating new practice lines, driving large transformational programmes, and evangelising new business models across industry segments. In his new role, Kumar will report to Infosys COO Pravin Rao.
Rao, who is responsible for driving growth and differentiation across portfolios at Infosys, also oversees global delivery, quality and productivity, the supply chain, business enabler functions and Infosys Labs.
Since joining Infosys in 1986, Rao has held a number of senior leadership roles in the company.
In an another move, Michael Reh, head at Infosysâs banking product Finacle, will also oversee the recently spun-off products, platforms and solutions business EdgeVerve Systems Ltd.
EdgeVerve MD Sanjay Purohit is moving out of the unit, while EdgeVerveâs COO Samson David may take up a position in Infosysâs cloud computing business, sources told Mint.
