Law firm IndusLaw has hired RDA Legal partner Avik Biswas along with his four associates.
Biswas joined IndusLaw as a partner in its Bangalore office last month, his LinkedIn profile shows. Legally India was the first to report the development. His associates are Shrutika Umarji, N Guruprasad, Jaya Shruthi and Amrutha Bhat.
An email sent to a spokesperson for IndusLaw seeking further information did not elicit any response by the time of filing this article.
Prior to RDA Legal, Biswas worked with Poovayya & Co, Infosys Ltd and New Delhi Law Offices in varied practice areas such as employment laws, mergers and acquisitions, in-bound and out-bound investments, and IT contracts.
Biswas graduated from National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, in 2006 and started his career at New Delhi Law Offices.
Last month, IndusLaw beefed up its New Delhi office by hiring seven executives including two partners from HSA Advocates.
It appointed Navin Syiem and Avirup Nag as partners, Abhishek Bhalla as principal associate, Shraddha Malhotra as senior associate, and Rohan Gosh, Niyati Bhatt and Shruti Barua as associates.
IndusLaw now has 16 partners and about 80 associates across four offices in Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
IndusLaw was the advisor for private equity and venture capital deals in 2015 when it advised online marketplace Snapdeal, cab-hailing firm Ola, hotels aggregator OYO and classifieds site Quikr in their significant funding rounds.
