Jyotinder Kaur, principal economist at HDFC, says despite the legislative and political hurdles that Prime Minister Narendra Modi faces, he has done a good job though a lot more needs to be done.

She believes that the optimism surrounding Modi is predicated on a perfect political configuration and perfect areas of doing business that are far from being real. She says the country is capable of posting GDP growth above 7-7.5 per cent.

In a chat with VCCircle, Kaur talks about how the Modi-led government has performed over the last year and what more can the government do in terms of pushing the country’s economic growth.
