IDG-backed Vserv Appoints Ex-Yahoo & Facebook Exec As Advisor

Vserv, a Mumbai-based mobile advertising network for app developers, publishers and advertisers operating in emerging markets, has brought on board TS Ramakrishnan as a technology advisor.

With more than two decades of experience in technology architecture, Ramakrishnan had previously worked with Facebook, Skype, Yahoo!, AdMob and Oracle. In his new position, he will provide expert advice, as well as valuable insights into the New Media industry, which will help strengthen Vserv’s technology edge.

Ramakrishnan holds a BE degree in Computer Science from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Alabama. He also serves as an advisor to several technology start-ups in Silicon Valley, Europe and Asia.

Dippak Khurana, co-founder and chief executive officer of Vserv.mobi, said, “Ramakrishnan’s contributions in building today’s New Media behemoths will help us accelerate our growth.”

Last year, Vserv received series A round of funding to the tune of $3 million from technology venture capital firm IDG Ventures India. Manik Arora and Karan Mohla from IDG Ventures also joined Vserv’s board of directors.

Ajay Adiseshann, founder and managing director of the mobile payment company PayMate, has also invested an undisclosed amount in Vserv.
