Full-service law firm HSA Advocates has appointed Ashutosh Gupta as a partner and chief strategy officer to lead strategic planning and business development.

Gupta joins HSA from Economic Laws Practice, where he was a partner and was earlier associated with Khaitan & Co. as director – strategy and business development, according to a statement HSA Advocates.

With over 15 years of management consulting and change-management experience, Gupta has a track record of creating and implementing growth strategies that leverage technology and data analytics in driving positive impact on revenue, client outreach and brand positioning.

He has previously worked with KPMG and Aon Hewitt. Gupta is a Delhi University law alumnus with a post-graduate degree in law from Columbia University and an MBA degree from Oxford University.

HSA managing partner Hemant Sahai said, “Law firms need to continually adapt to the external environment impacting our industry and respond suitably to the emerging opportunities. Gupta brings with him this experience that will be vital to our growth.”

In June this year, the firm had appointed Amit Charan as a partner to strengthen its banking and finance practice.

In the same month, the firm had appointed Geeta Saha as a partner at its Mumbai office in May.

HSA, founded in 2003 by Hemant Sahai, has offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata. Its practice areas include corporate mergers and acquisitions, private equity, banking and finance, projects, infrastructure and energy, taxation, regulation and policy.
