Software giant Microsoft has appointed top Honeywell India executive Anant Maheshwari as its president for India operations with effect from 1 January 2017.
Maheshwari will take charge from current chairman Bhaskar Pramanik, who will retire in March 2017, the company said in a statement on Monday.
At Microsoft, Maheshwari will oversee the company's product, service and support offerings across India.
Pramanik said Maheshwari brings âstrong operational rigor, strategic competence, excellent leadership and a proven track record of bringing together diverse teams to drive big impactâ.
As president of Honeywell India, Maheshwari looked after the company's three strategic business groups: aerospace, automation and control solutions (ACS), and performance materials and technologies.
Over the 12 years at Honeywell, he held various leadership roles, including managing director of public-listed Honeywell Automation India Ltd, where he led the transformation of the ACS business portfolio.
Prior to Honeywell, Maheshwari had a six-year stint with consultancy firm McKinsey & Co, where he worked with clients across multiple industries including telecom, information technology and e-commerce, private equity, engineering equipment, automotive, steel and pharmaceuticals.
