The government is focused on improving the countryâs transportation architecture, union minister of road transport, highways and shipping Nitin Gadkari has said.
Rs 2.18 trillion has been earmarked for roads and railways in financial year 2016-17. The Union Budget for 2016-17 puts the total investment in the road sector at Rs 97,000 crore with Rs 55,000 crore allocated for roads and highways, Gadkari said at the launch of Infracircle.in, an infrastructure-focused news website unveiled by News Corp VCCircle.
