Goldman Sachs Asset Management International Ltd (GSAMI), the asset management and private equity investment arm of Goldman Sachs Group Inc, has invested an undisclosed sum in GlobalLogic Inc, a US-based software R&D services firm with its innovation hub in India.
The other investors in GlobalLogic include Sequoia Capital, Draper Atlantic (now New Atlantic Ventures) and New Enterprise Associates (NEA).
GlobalLogic believes that the deal would bring it access to the firm's asset management services.
The firm has innovation hubs in the US, India, Ukraine, China and Argentina and has currently employs 3,000 people globally. Its offers a wide range of R&D services including advisory, customer research, ideation, product engineering and support and maintenance in digital media, electronics, finance, healthcare, infrastructure, retail and telecom. It currently has over 150 clients including Autodesk, Broadsoft, Motorola, Qualcomm and Yahoo.
In 2008, following the Sequoia investment, GlobalLogic acquired InterObject, a software product engineering company in Europe. Earlier, it acquired Dalian 3 CIS in China and Validio Software in Ukraine.
