Startup accelerator-cum-early-stage fund Global Super Angels Forum (GSF) will invest $1 million (Rs 6.5 crore) in five startups as part of the sixth edition of its incubation programme.

"Each firm will receive funds worth Rs 200,000. Additionally, GSF will provide $1 million as co-investment in seed/Series A round. Startups can send applications till November 30 and the programme will start in December," GSF said in a statement.

GSF had invested $65,000 to $100,000 in five startups as part of the last edition of its incubator programme that offers startups access to the global tech community with mentorship by over 300 mentors and startup founders.

Select startups will spend the first three months in Bengaluru to refine their products, followed by trips to San Francisco, Tokyo and China for getting immersed in the global tech ecosystem, it said.

“This iteration of GSF has been designed to be an intense and intimate experience for a small group of startups,” said Rajesh Sawhney, founder of

GSF Accelerator and co-founder of InnerChef.

“GSF 6.0 is designed as a life transformational experience for the five startups with the programme spanning Bengaluru, San Francisco, Tokyo and China. Each startup will be assigned a chief mentor from among the six founders who have come together for the programmer this time,” Sawhney said.

GSF has earlier funded companies such as Little Eye Labs (acquired by Facebook in 2014), Pokkt (also funded by Jafco, Singtel, Jungle), SilverPush (IDG ventures, 500 startups), Zapr (Hotstar, Flipkart and Saavn) HackerEarth (Dice, Beenext and Prime Venture), Timesaverz (Unilazer Ventures and others), Dailyrounds (Accel), DocsApp (Bessemer, Rebright and others), Whatfix (Hellion, Stellaris and others) and Quizizz (Nexus and Prime VP).

GSF's investment team for the sixth edition of its incubation programme will include Rajesh Sawhney, Hiro Mashita (founder of M&S Partners, Singapore), Anand Chandrasekaran (who is driving Facebook’s messenger platform), Sumesh Menon (founder of U2opia Mobile ), Dinesh Agarwal (founder of Indiamart), Ashish Toshniwal (founder of Y Media Labs, San Francisco), Sri Peddu (founder of Powerhouse Ventures), Murugavel Janakiraman (founder and CEO Matrimony.com) and Boris Ryabov (managing partner at Bright Capital).
