German cable support systems firm PUK-WERKE acquires majority stake in Profab Engineers

Berlin-based PUK-WERKE KG Kunststoff-Stahlverarbeitung GmbH & Co has acquired controlling stake in Mumbai-based cable management company Profab Engineers Private Limited, for an undisclosed amount.

Founded in 1984, Profab Engineering is into manufacturing and sale of products like ladder cable trays, concrete ceiling cable trays, perforated cable tray, rising cable trays, extra-long couplers ladder cable trays, vertical bend internal cable trays, among several other types. It is promoted by Vutha Gopal and Vutha Mohan.

On the other side, PUK is a leading manufacturer of such products in Germany, with presence in many other European countries like Russia and Turkey. It has its own plants, sales companies and distribution partners and is a mid-size firm in terms of revenues.

PUK-WERKE KG was founded in 1969 by the merger of the two companies—Hermann Pohl OHG (founded in 1951) and Anton Klein OHG (founded in 1935). Besides cable management, with its PUK-Solarline products, it also offers solutions for the installation of photovoltaic systems. 

CMS Hasche Sigle, CMS Derks Star Busmann and Khaitan & Co were advisors in the transaction.
