Educational Initiatives Pvt. Ltd, an assessment and personalised learning solutions provider, has hired former Vodafone Idea Ltd executive Anand Dani as its new chief business officer.
The ed-tech company said in a statement it hoped to tap into Dani’s experience and expertise to begin its next phase of growth operations.
“Anand comes with strong business acumen and invaluable as well as relevant experience,” Educational Initiatives chief executive officer Srini Raghavan said.
Dani said he was looking forward to working with the Educational Initiatives team, saying that the company had established a position as a leading player in the ed-tech sector. “I believe it has the potential to bring positive changes to this segment and the way children learn,” he added.
Dani was previously the COO for Vodafone Idea in the Karnataka region. A graduate of the ICFAI Business School in Pune, Dani has also worked with other telecommunications companies including Bharti Airtel, leading and working with their sales, marketing and business operations divisions.
Educational Initiatives was founded in 2001 by Sridhar Rajagopalan, Sudhir Ghodke and Venkat Krishnan. It develops and offers education assessment and learning products and services for schools in India and overseas. In July last year, VCCircle reported that Gaja Capital invested $25 million (around Rs 171 crore) in the Ahmedabad-based ed-tech firm.
