Fortis Healthcare has appointed Bhavdeep Singh as the CEO, reports The Economic Times. Singh, headed Reliance Retail's stores previously. While Shivinder Singh, Fortis Healthcare's owner will step down as the CEO of the company, he will continue as the MD of the healthcare giant.
With 30 years of experience in retail space in US, Singh returned to India in 2006 to head the retail business of Spencer Retail. He joined Reliance Retail as its head in 2007. At Fortis, Singh plans to focus on containing the cost of operations, increasing efficiency and providing healthcare services.
Reliance Retail recently reshuffled its top level management and restructured their roles and responsibilities. As a part of the rejig, the backend of Reliance Retail's hypermarket, supermarket and convenience store formats were merged. Consequently, Bhavdeep was made the in- charge of stores for all the three formats.
