Bangalore-headquartered 2mpower Health Management Services Pvt Ltd, which has developed a wearable fitness tracking device GetActive, has secured an disclosed amount in funding from Infosysâ former director T Mohandas Pai and chief technology officer Sharad Hegde, according to a report in The Economic Times.
The company will use the amount to provide holistic disease management solutions and expand applications in areas such as retail and financial services.
2mpower was founded in 2009 by Mohammed Hussain Naseem (CEO), former vice president and head (healthcare business), IBM. Previously, he was regional sales manager and head (Middle East operations) at Infosys. Prior to that, he was national product manager at Wipro GE Medical Systems. Naseem holds a B Tech degree from IIT Bombay.
2mpower is a technology company which is focusing on preventive health management. The companyâs product GetActive is a wrist-based device that helps one monitor his/her fitness activity statistics. The device also enables one to synchronise data with his/her smartphone using bluetooth. Using GetActive, one can also get the data on a cloud-based application. The device is priced at Rs 2,999.

Recently, Vishal Gondal, who had resigned as managing director of the digital arm of Disney UTV in April last year, has floated , which offers a mix of wearable technology, expert-led personalised coaching and elements of social philanthropy to enable its users to make a shift to a healthier lifestyle.
