Mumbai-based Waterfield Advisors has appointed Kartik Kini as chief operating officer of its multi-family office business, the wealth management firm said in a press statement.
Kini, who has over two decades' experience in the financial services industry, was part of the founding team that set up the wealth management practice at Avendus Capital. He was chief administrative officer at Avendus Wealth Management Pvt Ltd, his LinkedIn profile shows.
Kini has also held leadership roles at Deutsche Bank and DSP Merrill Lynch, the statement said.
"A highly organised, strategic and result-driven professional, Kartik is adept at improving processes, driving efficiencies, and implementing new technologies,â Soumya Rajan, chief executive of Waterfield Advisors, said on Kini's appointment.
Founded in 2011, Waterfield Advisors provides financial advisory to entrepreneurs, ultra-high-net-worth families, trusts and corporate clients. The release said it currently caters to 32 families with total financial assets of over $2 billion.
Waterfield expects to grow assets under advisory to Rs 50,000 crore ($7.7 billion) in three years, Rajan had told VCCircle in May. It also plans to expand its client base to 100 families. The company halted its direct involvement in transaction advisory last year to focus on the core business.
In 2014, Amit and Arihant Patni, sons of Gajendra Patni (the eldest of Patni brothers who founded Patni Computers), picked up a significant minority stake in Waterfield.
