India's food price index rose 9.47 per cent and the fuel price index climbed 13.01 per cent in the year to Sept 3, government data on Thursday showed.
In the previous week, annual food and fuel inflation stood at 9.55 per cent and 12.55 per cent, respectively.
The primary articles index was up 13.04 per cent, compared with an annual rise of 13.34 per cent a week earlier.
The Reserve Bank of India remains bent on fighting domestic inflation, which climbed to its highest in more than a year to 9.78 per cent in August, reinforcing the case for another rate hike on Friday despite weakening growth and a worsening global outlook.
The Reserve Bank of India, which has lifted rates 11 times in 18 months, will release its mid-quarter review on Friday.
