Firms shortlisted for showcase session at VCCircle Agri & Food Investment Summit 2015; register now

VCCircle has shortlisted five companies for the showcase session of the VCCircle Agri and Food investment Summit, to be held on October 28 at Taj Lands End in Mumbai. VCCircle Showcase promises to be an exciting session aimed at bringing out innovative ideas and business propositions in the farm and food sector in India. Here is the line-up of companies slated to present their innovations at the session.

The Green Snack Co.: The company aims to provide healthy and delicious snacks made by using different super-foods and fresh and natural ingredients, with no added sugar or preservatives. The company was founded by Jasmine Kaur, who is a strong advocate of healthy snacking and fitness.

Green Agrevolution Pvt Ltd: The rapidly growing farm supply chain company works with thousands of farmers in Bihar through DeHaat, a unique farm services delivery centre run by local micro-entrepreneurs. The company was co-founded by Shashank Kumar and Manish Kumar in 2013. IIT-Delhi alumnus Shashank is also the CEO.

Aguracy Farms Pvt Ltd: Aguracy, through its brand Tazy, focuses on managing and streamlining the supply chain from farm to fork, tapping into its strong linkages with farmers, societies and importers. It was founded by Ravinder Shan and Gurvinder Juneja, who together have more than 50 years of experience in distribution management and the food and beverage industry.

Living Greens Organics Pvt Ltd: It is one of the first urban farming companies in India and specializes in rooftop organic farming of fruits as well as kitchen gardening and indoor green wall. The company was founded by Prateek Tiwari, who is an agriculture engineer and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.

Positive Beverages Pvt Ltd: Under its brand Brewhouse, Positive Beverages aims to provide options to consumers who are looking for an alternative to artificial ingredients, chemical colours and harmful preservatives. It was founded in 2012 by Siddhartha Jain, an alumnus of IIM Calcutta with six years of investment banking experience.

The Showcase session is a curated platform that will be presided over by an acclaimed jury panel including Jinesh Shah, founding partner, Omnivore Partners, a venture fund investing in early-stage agriculture and food technology companies in India; and Rakesh Sony, Director, Black River Food Fund, a PE fund that manages close to $2 billion across the food and agriculture sector besides others.
